 Jim Thorpe was born in the Indian Territory, which is now Oklahoma, and grew up in the culture of the Sack and Fox tribe. His Native American name, "WA-THO-HUK," means "Bright Path."

 Thorpe achieved outstanding results in multiple sports, including track and field, American football, and baseball. He became world-renowned, particularly at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics, where he won gold medals in both the pentathlon and decathlon. He later went on to have a successful career in professional American football and baseball, and is considered one of the most iconic figures in American sports history.
